Seminar Overview - 10 minutes long

Below is a video I made for a demonstration Thomas and I gave at the Missouri Writing Project Network 's Leadership Retreat. Thomas and I, along with Kim Grayson, who attended the Holocaust seminar last year, presented a demonstration to around sixty writing project leaders from around the state of Missouri. We started with this video, which includes almost 2000 images taken by several of us; Thomas talked about several of the demonstrations we saw involving "Changing Perspectives" and Kim did an actual demonstration. We finished with demonstrating the appication process and hopefully more from Missouri will apply for next years seminar. Feedback from participants was very positive.
The video is around 10 minutes long and includes some video clips of Gisa and Irving in addition to the 2000 pictures. Believe it or not, I eliminated over 1200 images to keep our presentation within the allotted time.

P.S. Can we edit on this blog? I don't see an edit function, and I just realized I misspelled phenomenal.

I didn't notice the misspelling. I always wonder if misspell has two ll's in it. :) To answer your question, you cannot edit a comment. However, you can delete it by clicking on the trash can in the comment window. You can edit a post by clicking on the pencilt at the bottom of the post. Nice to see you here on the blog. I will be doing some posting of my own in the next day or so.

The video was wonderful, Larry. I am curious how it was received by the audience. After watching, I am dying to know who got to see Elmo. I don;t remember anyone metioning him. That was cool. We shared so many experiences. Miss you guys!!!

Thanks for the memories Larry! That was great to watch and revisit our time together. I like how the speed of the photos reflected our experience - a whirlwind!

Larry: You and all of the others continue to amaze me. It makes me believe in the quality of the teachers of our children and the profound positive affect they will have on their lives.

Your video was fantabulous. An amazing memory of an extraordinary excursion! Something that all of you as well as we will keep in our hearts forever. Thanks to all of you for your contribtions at the seminar and for your future extraordinary work in teaching the lessons of the Holocaust to your students. Please keep in close touch, through the Blog and with Sondra, Jennifer and Alice, to whom we are deeply indebted for making the seminar such a marvelous life experience. Ellen sends her best regards to all.

Larry,
Thanks so much for all your hard work! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyone again on the video. I've had postcards from Stephen, Leslie, and Sue! It was wonderful to go to the mailbox and find a little piece of "home" from each one of them. I hope we can all keep in touch. I'm working on my semester long diversity and tolerance unit for the fall semester. I'll post a copy once it's done. As everyone puts together his/her ideas I'd love to hear from you! I hope everyone is well. I miss you guys and our time spent in NYC. Again, thanks Larry for all you have done keeping us in touch and posting all those pictures to the blog!

I too enjoyed reliving our shared experiences. School starts for me in ONE WEEK! I want to open with Identity, which will be my overarching theme for the year. We'll do the "I am from" poems, Gatsinzi's activity in which you list 5 things that identify you, and then, instead of identity boxes, I am going to have the students decorate their portfolios with images that show who they are. Anyone have any other suggested activities for identity? Suggestions would be most welcome. I will let you know how things go.

Thanks for the kind words everybody. The video was fun to make although it turned into another of one of those two in the morning projects, if you can imagine that. Elmo was hanging out down at Times Square I believe. I wil never forget Daniele has two ll's in it again. :)
